Threads is a platform launched by Meta to compete with Twitter.
Although Threads broke records with over 100 million subscribers in just 5 days, data from Sensor Tower and Similarweb shows that growth and engagement have slowed.
According to Sensor Tower data, user engagement decreased after threads were launched, said Anthony, managing director.
When compared to Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday saw a 20% drop in daily active users and a 50% drop in user time on Threads.
Despite its Meta support and Instagram integration, Threads' rise will probably be challenging if it wants to compete with and draw more people to large social networks.
Between launch and last Monday, the number of global active users of Android phone users dropped by more than 25%, according to Similarweb.
Average usage time in the US fell by more than half, dropping from about 20 minutes on July 6 to just over 8 minutes on July 10.
The data also shows a reduction in engagement and people who are still getting acquainted to other social media platforms rather than Threads.
By the numbers Threads is seeing a decline from where it started.
Since its launch on July 5, Themes has achieved popularity thanks to its Instagram integration and positive reviews from marketers.
Despite the initial surge in sign-ups, it is anticipated that this increase will decline as users test the new service and make sure their demands are being satisfied.
For its part, Meta expressed excitement at Threads' early success and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the user experience and rolling out new features in the months to come.
The business added that the majority of the recorded subscriptions were organic and not the consequence of marketing activities.
