Complaints about iPhone battery drain after iOS 16.5 update are mounting

According to the notes of the British Daily Mail

iPhone users have complained that their devices' batteries are draining faster than usual after installing the iOS 16.5 update.

The iOS 16.5 update was released by Apple last week, with the aim of "improving some features and fixing bugs, as well as important security updates," according to the statement attached to the update.

The main focus of the update was also to fill security holes in iPhone phones, and Apple did not indicate any large-scale changes to the system. Despite this, iPhone users have received many complaints, noticing that their phones' batteries drain quickly after the update.

In addition, the iOS 16.5 update witnessed negative comments on social media platforms such as Twitter and Reddit, in addition to Apple's official technical support forum and others. The main focus of these comments was around the draining battery issue, as some users reported that the charging speed was also affected. This malfunction is not limited to certain iPhones.

According to the experience of users, no effective traditional solutions were found for problems that appeared after the update, such as restarting the phone frequently.

Specialist experts also believe that installing a new update on the iPhone leads to activating a set of processes in the background of the device. These processes, including file indexing and battery recalibration, can take a long time, up to hours or days. This may also result in greater consumption of battery power, and battery recalibration can create an inaccurate impression of the actual charge level and speed.

So far, Apple has not made any comments on this matter. It is also not known yet whether the problem is actually related to the new update, and if it needs Apple's intervention by issuing another sub-update, or is it just a temporary decrease in battery performance after the update, and it is possible that the battery will return to its previous state before the update at a later time. Subsequent.

Currently, Apple is developing the iOS 6.6 beta update, in preparation for its release soon, and there is still no indication from Apple regarding any specific changes in battery performance.

Apple is also preparing for its annual developer conference, WWDC 2023, this year, where it will unveil an expected update to the iOS 17 operating system and other major updates to its various product range.
