WhatsApp is currently testing a feature to protect private photos.

A new feature that will prohibit users from taking screenshots of their private photographs is being tested by WhatsApp.

The ability to safeguard a personal photo prevents other users from taking screen photos while the user is viewing it ,This feature was first seen in the most recent Android system beta version of the program. When you attempt to accomplish this, a notification at the bottom of the screen informs you that "restrictions imposed by the application" will prevent the task from being finished.

About five years ago, WhatsApp removed the option for users to directly store their private images, but it was still feasible to get around this by capturing a screenshot.

In order to stop fraud, impersonation, and harassment utilizing users' personal images within the application, a new function has been added to provide an extra degree of safety.

A few years back, Meta gave users access to a feature on Facebook called "personal photo protection," which blocked other users from downloading, sharing, or taking a screenshot of their photos, as well as from being completely viewed by non-friends.

You can manage who can view your profile picture on WhatsApp by navigating to the Privacy area inside the application settings.

However, the platform is also developing a new feature called "User Names," which will serve as the foundation for communication and conceal personal phone numbers, This feature is still in the early stages of development and will not replace phone numbers in the account registration process.
