Amazon Web Services has announced a new service for healthcare service providers
AWS HealthScribe, a brand-new service from Amazon Web Services, is intended for medical professionals. This service is distinguished by the autonomous drafting of clinical documents using two generative AI and speech-aware approaches.
By leveraging AI-generated scripts and summaries for patient visits, AWS HealthScribe seeks to save time for healthcare professionals. The electronic health record system can then be used to store these documents.
Additionally, the service has the capacity to check each line of text that was written using the original while extracting important medical terminology, drugs, and other pertinent information.
An American Medical Association study from 2016 found that clinical documentation is stressful for medical professionals since they spend so much time on administrative tasks.
Companies like Nuance Communications and Amazon Web Services are creating solutions to lessen the administrative burden on doctors based on this requirement.
Additionally, Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express, an app from Nuance Communications, employs artificial intelligence to record clinical notes.
By automatically generating draft clinical notes following a patient visit, this software attempts to lessen the administrative duties placed on clinicians.
Based on Amazon Bedrock, AWS HealthScribe is designed for generative AI application development. Since the service does not keep any client information and gives users the option of where to store their clinical records, it complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Customers are charged based on the number of audio processing seconds used each month, hence the price of the service changes depending on usage.
