Google offers Chromebooks Help Me Write.
The artificial intelligence tool Help Me Write, which seeks to boost the caliber of writing on Chromebooks, is about to go live on Google.
Although the business has long been integrating AI capabilities into its offerings, the frequency has risen in the wake of generative AI.
The business is giving Chromebooks access to an AI-powered Creative work and Editing tool that will let users enhance the quality of their work throughout the entire operating system.
To help people write better, Google has added these kinds of imaginative, AI-powered writing and editing capabilities to some of its other products, including Gmail and Docs.
Recently, a Magic Compose function was added to Google Messages to assist in creating or editing responses. The actions show Google's growing interest in generative AI.
The Chromium repository revealed that the business has recently been aggressively working on a project with numerous codenames, including Orca, Mako, and Manta.
The new right-click menu option that appears while altering text anywhere in the operating system is known as Orca, according to the report. When Orca is engaged, Mako, a new bubble user interface, appears and serves three key purposes:
1. Request a rewrite: Ask for an AI version of your text that has been revised.
2. Predefined string queries: Lists several examples of directives and asks for rewriting in particular patterns.
3. Incorporate retyped text: This action adds the AI-typed content back into the original document.
Additionally, Manta is in charge of directing Google's servers to receive the original text directions and deliver them the desired, AI-processed text. This is consistent with Google's current approach for other AI-based writing tools and only takes place with the user's express consent.
The new function offers numerous writing tweaks, which are similar to the choices offered by the Help Me Write artificial intelligence feature in Gmail, including shortening, elaboration, paraphrasing, formalization, and emoji.
This function is advantageous because it is integrated into the operating system and so accessible through most apps. According to the statistics, this functionality is exclusive to Chromebooks Plus and was created to set premium Chromebooks apart from student-focused models that are more reasonably priced.
